BENEFITS OF SAFFRON

Saffron threads naturally contain crocin, safranal, and picrocrocin — the same compounds responsible for saffron's signature golden-red color, aroma, and flavor. These naturally occurring antioxidants are part of what makes each thread of Saffronoro so prized.

Compositional research has confirmed saffron's antioxidant activity is linked to these naturally occurring compounds. Beyond their role in color and aroma, crocin and safranal have also drawn growing interest in modern research for their potential connection to mood and emotional wellbeing, building on saffron's long history in traditional wellness practices.

Our mission

Calabria, Italy is home to some of the most potent botanicals and saffron in the world. The region's rare combination of intense Mediterranean sun, cool mountain breezes, and mineral-rich volcanic soil produces saffron with exceptionally high levels of antioxidants and active compounds — among the most powerful in the world.

Our vision

We believe what is grown in Calabria can heal both body and soul. We hope our saffron does the same for you.

Lab Results Potency You Can Measure

Saffron's quality can be measured, not just admired. Its signature color, aroma, and flavor all come from three naturally occurring compounds — crocin, picrocrocin, and safranal. These aren't additives; they're simply what saffron is made of, and they're also the compounds classified as antioxidants.

These compounds are measured internationally using ISO 3632, the laboratory standard for saffron quality, through spectrophotometric testing. Every batch of Saffronoro is independently tested against this standard:

Category I Class

Saffronoro Results:

Crocin (440 nm)

Color strength (≥ 200) = 307.25

Picrocrocin (257 nm)

Flavor strength (≥ 70) = 269.81

Safranal (330 nm)

Aroma strength (20–50) = 42.18
